Timber Frame Installation & Shipping Services

Seamless Delivery. Expert Assembly. Built to Perform.

Timber frame installation is a critical step in bringing your project to life. At Woodpecker Timber Framing, we make it smooth, efficient, and reliable. Every timber package is pre-fit and precisely labeled at our facility, then shipped with care to your site across Alberta, British Columbia, or beyond. Our experienced team ensures each component is installed accurately and securely, reducing delays and keeping your build on track. From foundation coordination to final assembly, we take pride in delivering timber structures that stand strong and go up smoothly.

Quality Control

Quality control is essential to our business. Shop drawings are reviewed by a second drafts person before production begins. Throughout the production process, every piece is inspected at every step to ensure it meets our standards. Before shipping, the controller checks each package to ensure it is complete with all necessary components, including fasteners, plugs, and connectors, for on-site assembly. Only after this inspection is the package signed off and shipped. We can provide radio frequency and vacuum kiln-drying, which ensures a controlled low moisture content of the timbers and therefore dimensional stability.

Shipping

The shipping department takes great care to ensure all timbers and components are properly protected before shipment. Components are bundled and secured with steel banding and protective cardboard corners to prevent damage. The bundles are then wrapped in tarps for safe transport.
For smaller projects, deliveries are made using Woodpecker company trucks and trailers, while larger projects are shipped via highway trucks.

Installation

Installation is the final step of the process and requires careful planning to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Before shipping, our project managers collaborate with your general contractor or site foreman to confirm that the site is prepared for delivery and installation. We coordinate the installation sequence with them and determine the appropriate lifting equipment required.

Woodpecker utilizes their own installation and lifting equipment, eliminating the need for third-party rentals and ensuring that the installation stays on schedule and within budget. For larger projects, we may also use site cranes and heavy equipment provided by the construction site.

If required, our engineer provides detailed installation instructions, including the erection process, installation sequence, and necessary temporary bracing during installation. This service is separate from the structural engineer’s review and is focused specifically on the installation process. These installation drawings are reviewed and officially stamped by our engineers.

US Customers

Woodpecker proudly supplies timber frame and mass timber packages across the U.S.

Why choose Canadian Timber Products?

Canadian timber is renowned for its high quality, as it comes from some of the world’s most robust and resilient tree species, such as Douglas Fir, Spruce and Pine, which are known for their strength and durability.

Additionally, the colder Canadian climate slows tree growth, resulting in denser, stronger wood with tighter grain patterns, that are ideal for timber framing. US customers also benefit from an exchange rate advantage, which Woodpecker is happy to pass on to their clients.
