Timber Frame Homes

Crafting Your Custom Retreat

We create custom timber homes using Canadian wood like Douglas Fir, Cedar, and Spruce that are cut and crafted at our shop in Exshaw, Alberta. Woodpecker homes are made with traditional post and beam joinery, high-performance mass timber options, and precise CNC cutting. We work with your plans or design from scratch, helping you choose textures, finishes, and structural styles that suit your space, lifestyle, and values.

Whether you’re building a rustic retreat or a bold modern home, we help you create something timeless, efficient, and beautifully tailored to your vision.

From first sketch to final beam, here’s what working with Woodpecker looks like.

How We Bring Your Custom Timber Frame Home to Life

Design Discovery

We start with your ideas, sketches, or full plans. You’ll meet with our team to discuss your goals, style, and budget. From there, we create technical drawings and 3D models to shape your vision into a buildable design.

Engineering & Planning

Our drafting team works with expert timber engineers to finalize your structural drawings. You approve everything before production. We also confirm site measurements to ensure your timber frame fits perfectly on arrival.

Manufacturing & Finishing

We cut your timber using CNC precision or hand tools (depending on the design), and finish it with your chosen textures or stains. Each beam is bundled, protected, and labeled for smooth delivery and assembly.

Shipping & Installation

We ship your custom timber package anywhere in Alberta or BC. You can choose to have your builder install it, or bring in our experienced crew for expert, on-site timber frame assembly.

Let’s turn your ideas into a handcrafted timber home that’s strong, sustainable, and made just for you.

Sustainability at the Core of Our Craft

We design every custom timber frame home with the environment in mind. Our premium Canadian wood is sustainably sourced, kiln-dried, and built to last. With energy-efficient joinery, low-VOC finishes, and a near-zero-waste shop, we help you build a home that’s as responsible as it is beautiful.

Every Detail Matters. Every Timber Counts.

Our homes aren’t just assembled, they’re crafted. From traditional mortise and tenon joinery to custom-textured beams, every detail is thoughtfully built by our expert team.
